Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly-skilled software engineer to join our dynamic startup team based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our company is focused on developing innovative services that tackle global food security using advanced analytics. The software engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing the systems backing our advanced artificial intelligence models and delivering the results to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain our software applications that provide actionable insights to farmers, governments, and other players in the agriculture space
  • Develop and implement scalable and efficient processing pipelines that integrate machine learning algorithms and satellite data
    • Build, test, and deploy Docker images and containers for consistent and reliable build environments
    • Create and manage CI/CD pipelines that leverage containers
    • Configure and manage applications running on Linux and Unix-based systems
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality code and efficient performance
    • Use Git to manage code versions and perform code reviews
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products
  • Use Python, JavaScript, and other programming languages to develop the system
  • Use Amazon Web Services to build cloud-based services

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 18 months of experience in software development, including:
    • Backend software development using Python
    • Using Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud tools and APIs
  • Proficiency in using Git, Docker and containers, Linux and Unix systems.
